Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will find it.
What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul?
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.
I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.”

GNT … If any of you want to come with me, you must forget yourself, carry your cross and follow me…if you lose your life for my sake, you will find it’ ‘Mat 16:25 If you want to save your life, you will destroy it. But if you give up your life for me, you will find it’

This world will tell you that these words are crazy; this world says to us to gain our lives, we must find our lives to save our lives. How often do we hear, finding the real you, is an enlightening experience; become self-sufficient; do things for yourself; finding yourself is a time of harmony: develop your own philosophy or belief system that will carry you throughout the rest of your life; this is the world speaking. The greatest mistake Christians make is trying to save themselves, instead, we should kick back, relax and hand our lives over to Jesus our Lord & Savior, let Him take control, let Him lead, let Him guide our way and open the doors. Yes, we need to work to live, but don’t live to work; live to do God’s work, find a Passion in Christ, go show God’s Love, feed the poor, clothe the naked, heal the sick, look after the widows, visit the jails; there is so much we can do from our own corners of the world.
