Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together.
One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
Jesus replied “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
This is the first and greatest commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

GNT – God sent Jesus to SAVE US; when we accept Jesus, God does not override our will, but sets it free to freely choose to follow His word. It would be easier for Him to do so, but He wants us to be one with him but also to be ourselves. He starts us off with communications of His presence which, though faint, seem great, He wows us with emotional sweetness, and conquest over temptation. But He never allows this state of affairs to last long. Sooner or later He withdraws, not really, but at least from our emotional & conscious experience, and He leaves us re to stand up on our own legs—to freely carry out His will, the word is FREELY! And the two commandments sprinkles heavily with Love are the greatest of his will for us to share with the world.
