When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat, and when I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink. When I was a stranger, you welcomed me,”Mat 25:36,when I was naked, you gave me clothes to wear. When I was sick, you took care of me, and when I was in jail, you visited me.’
GNT – These words always remind me of the second great commandment to “Love your neighbour as you love yourself” it speaks to us about helping the less fortunate than us, it reminds us to support Charitable causes; Some say any charity will do, but remember not all Charities follow Jesus’ words. What good is it to save someone’s body or mind but lose their soul; we must choose wisely who we support. Support the works that are done in the name of Jesus, support Charities who do their work with and by God’s Love, not seeking conversion numbers, but actively showing God’s Love! Some say charity starts at “home”, but that is this world speaking; to look after our “home” is our duty or responsibility; Charity is to give with no reward, no recognition & no profit; it is giving to strangers who you don’t know and don’t know you whether it be your time, your money or of yourself, this is what Jesus means by Charity.
